Brian Hwang

Brian immigrated from South Korea as a child and grew up in the Bay Area. He is married to his lovely wife, Sarah, and has two beautiful and boisterous sons, Judah and Zion. In 2022, Brian and Sarah started a new EM called Jubilee City Church in Saratoga. The same year, Brian and Sarah also founded Radical Collaborative, a nonprofit committed to connecting the people of God and the resources of God in the Bay Area to the people of God and the work of God across the world. Brian feels like he has the best job in the world - to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Besides preaching, Brian enjoys developing fellow disciples of Jesus, especially preachers, engaging in international missions, building teams for Kingdom work, and doing life & ministry with his friends. Brian loves spending time with his sons, going on movie dates with his wife, cooking (delicious) pasta and steaks, and is training to compete in amateur boxing.

Discovering a Spiritual Discipline of Spending Quiet Time

We have been called and designed to spend personal time with God as we grow older and in our faith. The spiritual discipline of spending quiet time takes daily development and practice to create a transforming space where God can meet us and speak to us. Spending time alone with God should be the most delightful part of our day as we learn to reflect, meditate, wrestle, hear from God, be encouraged, and be strengthened by our living God. Christianity is not religion, it is a personal and intimate relationship with God!
